Good photo-realism. Would make an effective animation.

From agage@mines.edu:
A very nice image, especially the motion blur. Mouse traps are good,
especially
the inverted one with the price tag on the back.

From jjanger@mail.cspp.edu:
Great image. The textures on just about everything are perfect. The motion
idea worked liked a charm. This does have the impression of things hopping
around. I like the warning on the mousetraps. Other things like the price
tag and the focal blur are fine finishing touches.

The best one! And the text is interesting too. A little comment on the wood
which is
not as good as the rest, but i really like the sticker ($.49) on one trap!

What can anyone say about an image as exceptional as this? I loved it! We used
to use
those exact same mousetraps when I was a kid; I can remember getting my fingers
pinched
quite nastily by them. I like that you mapped the wood texture of each
mousetrap
differently. I liked the price sticker on the up-turned mousetrap (just like
the ones
at the local hardware store...). That motion blur effect is amazing; I bet
you're going
to get a lot of requests for the code. I hope it or an optimised version of it
makes it
into the next POV version! (20-20-20)

Worthy of being the POV-Ray website featured image.
Haven't I seen an image like this elsewhere?

=====
From cfusner@enter.net:
Very impressive results with the motion blur! This custom compile is
something the POV-Team should hear of. Certainly beats out any attempt
at faking the blur we've seen (short of manually averaging separate
images, which, as you noted, is illegal for the IRTC). Pity about the
added time, but the results are very nice.

Overall

Absolutely wonderful image! I have never seen this experiment in reality, but
movies of it. Very convincing motion blur!
