Short: Mount Dropbox as an Amiga volume (DBOX:) Author: Renaud Schweingruber (original handler by Norbert Kett) Uploader: Renaud Schweingruber Type: comm/net Version: 2.0 Requires: filesysbox.library, a TCP/IP stack, AmiSSL 5, MUI 3.8 Architecture: m68k-amigaos >= 3.0 Distribution: Aminet DropBox-Handler makes your Dropbox account appear as an ordinary AmigaDOS volume named DBOX:. Once mounted you can browse it in the Workbench, change into its drawers from the Shell, and open or save files from any application, exactly as if it were a local disk. Files are transferred to and from Dropbox on demand over a secure HTTPS connection. Version 2.0 is a rewrite on top of filesysbox.library - the same library smb2-handler and nfs-handler use. The AmigaDOS side (locks, directories, ExAll, notifications, protection bits, UTF-8 file names, files over 2 GB) comes from the library; the handler itself only speaks Dropbox. FEATURES - Dropbox mounted as a normal volume (DBOX:); browse, copy, create, delete, rename, run programs, open projects - from the Workbench, the Shell and applications. - Directory cache with patch-on-change: Copy/Delete loops do not refetch the drawer at every step; changes made elsewhere show up after CACHETTL seconds (60 by default). - Writes are buffered locally (T: by default) and uploaded when the file is closed: seeking back and rewriting inside a file works like on a disk. Big files go through Dropbox upload sessions in CHUNK KB pieces. - Adaptive read-ahead: large sequential reads speed up automatically while drawer browsing and small reads stay light. HTTPS connections are kept open between requests. - Secure connection via AmiSSL 5 (TLS 1.2+). - MUI setup program (DropBoxPrefs) that stores your keys, logs you in with a QR code scanned by your phone, or loads the authorisation code from a text file, and writes the configuration for you. - One "DropBox-Toggle" script that mounts and unmounts with a single command (unmount via FbxDismount from the filesysbox archive). - Live storage quota via Info DBOX:. - Mountlist options: VOLUME, CONFIG, SPOOL, CACHETTL, READAHEAD, CHUNK, TIMEOUT, READONLY, DEBUG, LOGFILE, NOREQ. - All credentials live in a single config file; nothing secret is compiled into the programs, and the short-lived session token is kept in memory only, never written to disk. The 1.0 configuration file works unchanged. INSTALLATION Double-click the Install icon (Commodore Installer). It copies the handler to L:, its data to DEVS:Cloud, DropBoxPrefs to SYS:Prefs and DropBox-Toggle to S:. filesysbox.library (Aminet util/libs/filesysbox.lha) and AmiSSL 5 must be installed separately. Then read the AmigaGuide: you have to create a Dropbox "app" once (free, five minutes) and authorise it with DropBoxPrefs. HISTORY 2.0 Rewrite on filesysbox.library; directory cache; spooled writes with upload sessions; adaptive read-ahead; new Mountlist options; case-only renames; refusal to delete non-empty drawers; Deny readers removed; DropBoxPrefs 1.1 with "Load code from file...". 1.0 First release (Norbert Kett's handler modernised: OAuth2 refresh tokens, AmiSSL TLS 1.2, DropBoxPrefs with QR login).
