% IMPORTANT ARCHITECTURAL NOTE (read this before touching the code):
% Modern babel (>= 3.4x core; confirmed here on babel v24.1 from
% TeX Live 2023) already ships CLDR-derived locale DATA for
% Malagasy as an ".ini" locale: locale/mg/babel-mg.ini and
% locale/mg/babel-malagasy.tex, reachable via \babelprovide.
% That data gives correct months/days/\today, but its [captions]
% and [captions.licr] sections are shipped EMPTY. This was
% discovered empirically while preparing this package (see
% docs/linguistic-policy.md), and it means the right way to add
% Malagasy captions is the officially documented user-facing
