The minutes of the August 13 Teleconference were approved. Steve to place in public archives. 2. The IESG approved publication of Compressing IP/UDP/RTP Headers for Low-Speed Serial Links as a Proposed Standard. However, this announcement can not be sent as this document requires both draft-engan-ip-compress-XX and draft-degermark-ipv6-hc-XX 3. The IESG tentatively approved publication of FTP Extensions for IPv6 (which does not yet exist) as a Proposed Standard. Once the document (which is to clairfy format and contents of the response string) is available and Thomas sends a note conveying acceptence, Steve to send announcement. 4. The IESG did not approve Internationalization of the File Transfer Protocol as it needed more work on the error messages portion. Harald to document his concerns, and Patrik will convey them to the document authors. 5. The IESG did not approved publication of FTP Security Considerations for publication as an Informational RFC. Changes are required to the current version. When ready, will be submitted as an WG Informational document. 6. The IESG approved publication of IETF Working Group Guidelines and Procedures for publication as a Best Current Practices RFC, pending revised text from Thomas and Scott. Once received, Steve to send announcement 7. The IESG tentatively approved publication of The PPP Triple-DES Encryption Protocol (3DESE) as a Proposed Standard pending an ok from Marcus. Once received, Steve to send announcement. 8. The IESG tentatively approved publication of The PPP DES Encryption Protocol, Version 2 (DESE-dis) as a Proposed Standard pending an OK from Marcus. Once received, Steve to send announcement. 9. The IESG tentatively approved publication of the following as Proposed Standards: Definitions of Managed Objects for the DS1, E1, DS2 and E3 Interface Types Definitions of Managed Objects for the DS3/E3 Interface Type Thomas needed to follow-up on an email message he received. Thomas to share what he discovers with the IESG and, if deemed ok, Steve to send announcement. 10. The IESG tentatively approved publication of Multiprotocol Interconnect over Frame Relay (which does not yet exist) as a Standard. When the updated document is available and Scott conveys his approval, Steve to send announcement. 11. The IESG approved publication of IP Header Compression over PPP as a Proposed Standard. However, this document depends on draft-degermark-ipv6-hc-xx being approved as well. 12. The IESG approved publication of Multi-link Multi-node PPP as an Informational RFC, but with a altered title: Bay Network's Multi-link Multi-node PPP Bundle Discovery Protocol. Steve to send announcement. 13. Action was deferred on Microsoft PPP CHAP Extensions pending a Security Review. Once either Marcus of Jeff sign-off, Steve to send announcement. 14. Action was deferred on Terminology for IP Multicast Benchmarking pending a Routing Review. Once Rob signs-off, Steve to send announcement. 15. The IESG approved publication of A Caution On The Canonical Ordering Of Link-Layer Addresses as an Informational RFC. Steve to send announcement. 16. A (hopefully) final set of comments will be sent to the authors of Building Directories from DNS: Experiences from WWWSeeker . Steve to notify RFC Editor that the current version is not to be published. 17. A new version of ACK Spacing for High Delay-Bandwidth Paths with Insufficient Buffering is anticipated, so Steve to convey to RFC Editor (along with an obvious so please don't publish now request). 18. The IESG tentatively approved publication of Job Monitoring MIB as an Experimental RFC. Steve to send announcement once Keith returns and gives his ok (document was originally submitted for consideration as a Proposed Standard).
