Short: LW tutorial: advanced lighting+shadows Author: Klearchos Gourgourinis (Muadib) Uploader: muadibas25 hotmail com (Muadib) Type: gfx/3d Version: 1 Architecture: generic Distribution: Aminet ABOUT ----- In this tutorial some advanced lighting techniques will be shown that output more realistic results compared to the 3 available Light types present in LW for the Amiga. REQUIREMENTS ------------ A fast Amiga with at least 16 MB of Fast Ram and a working LightWave 5.0 installation. The example scenes and objects could be working on earlier or later LW versions in other platforms, although I haven't tested it. INSTALLATION ------------ Extract the archive on a temporary location. Inside there are 3 directories. The contents of the 3D folder go to your 3d: assign. In case you don't have a full installation together with all the Modeler macros, copy the AREXX folder where your Toaster: or Lightwave: assign is. It contains the LightSwarm.lwm macro we will be using to create our lights. If you do have to copy the LightSwarm.lwm file manually, make sure you add the following 2 lines to your Toaster:PROGRAMS/LightWave_Support/ModelerMacroList config file: [empty line] # Light Swarm * Rexx:Modeler/LightSwarm.lwm [empty line] After this, fire up Modeler and check the Objects -> Custom drop-down menu, and you will now have the 'LightSwarm' entry. COPYRIGHT --------- You are free to use the object or scenes for your renderings, as long as you mention me in your credits if you plan on uploading them on the internet. The archive may not be uploaded neither as a whole or in parts to any other repository other than Aminet unless you ask me first. Also feel free to mail me if you liked it or have any questions, I'd be happy to help! Happy renderings, Klearchos Gourgourinis a.k.a.
